River AGAIN!

We took a really last minute river trip. Brian's really good friend from high school called and invited us to go with a bunch of people. We all had a great time. I will try and make some time to sit down and put some pictures up. Things had been pretty crazy lately so I don't sit down and dork around on the computer as much at all.

New Show!

Addie has been crazy about animals for a long time now. I found a show on Nick Jr. called the Wonder Pets. She LOVES it! It comes on at the perfect time about 10 a.m., Sofia is sleeping and I am able to get a few things done while she is watching it. Here is a little clip of the show.

I RAN!!!

I know for some people this is not a big deal but for me this is HUGE!!! I went to the gym tonight and I ran 2 different times for 3-5 minutes each time. For my super out of shape self that is great....that means I am getting somewhere. I feel like I have been doing pretty good since I joined the gym. It's been 115 the last few days and to think it's only the middle of June. I just had to share my little tiny bit of progress. Woo-hoo for me!!

The pink album

I was watching Ellen yesterday and Garth Brooks was a guest on her show. He said that Trisha Yearwood (his wife) did a 3-day walk and he thought that the women that did this were a little crazy but he thought it was great. Since he isn't a walker he thought he would do something to help the fight also. He has joined Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in the promise to end breast cancer forever, with the release of the “Pink Edition” of The Ultimate Hits album. The album is a new 3-disc set, and contains 30 classics, 3 new songs and a bonus track on two CDs. The set also includes a DVD with videos for all 33 songs, including new and never-before-seen footage. I thought this was so cool. $10 of the $15 dollars the CD costs goes to SGK for the cure. Just thought I would share.

Awesome Quote!

I saw this on a friends blog and I thought it was great! Enjoy!

"To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury; and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable; and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasion, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony."
-William Henry Channing

I'm lost!

What in the heck do I do now??? Thursday Addie is AWESOME with going to the bathroom on the potty, then Friday not so great. We went through 4 pairs of panties, I've heard not to make them feel really bad about it so I just told her that we go potty on the toilet not in our panties. When she runs around naked or just has panties on she will always go on the potty, it's when she has clothes on she has more of a hard time. I don't know why. She can't run around naked all the time, so what do I do?? Ideas PLEASE!!!!

Proud Mommy!

Okay so I am a super proud mom today, I thought we would tackle the potty training today. She has done great off and on with it but I buckled down today and jumped in 100%. Addie Kay went all day with big girl panties on. She had one accident and she was running to the bathroom when it happened. She wanted to go to bed with panties on and I put a diaper on and she felt that she also HAD to have the panties on. I just had to share the moment. I should have done this about 6 months ago but whatever at least she's not 5.

WE DID IT!!!

Obama gave a wonderful speech last night soon after he won as the democratic presidential nominee. I can't tell you how excited I am for the great change that will hopefully happen to our country. We need a HUGE change. I keep watching as the gas station on the corner raises the price of gas 3 cents everyday for the past week we are now up to $3.93. I don't know about you but I think that is just straight up outrageous. I remember when I started driving almost 9 years ago gas was 80 something cents. I went and got a few groceries the other day and saw that for one orange it was 94 cents. For a box of Cheerios it's 5 bucks. Seriously what would happen to all of us and our families if this were to continue for another 4 years? I am pretty darn sure that we would be homeless. This is crazy..Is this what we want for our kids? Just think a little about it PLEASE!!!

On a lighter note my child thought that 5 A.M. this morning would be a great time to wake up, she NEVER went back to sleep. I have no clue how she has the energy that she does, as I am sitting here writing this blog I could just lie down and go to sleep. KP and I walked 3.3 miles this morning at 6:30 a.m. Not sleeping well and walking is kickin my butt for sure.

WOO-HOO!!!!

I got my first two donations for the 3-Day yesterday! I am so excited. One of the guys was from my dad's work and he doesn't know me at all and he gave $100...I was shocked! Thank you Dad, Mom, and John Rickman for your support. I have been training now for almost a month. I feel like I am doing really pretty well. It's starting to get really hot here. If I walk super early or late at night...I just kinda think that if I can walk when it's over 100 outside then I should do okay walking 60 miles in November. I know that it's nothing compared to the awful things that the women have to go through every single day with breast cancer. I have no room to complain. I feel like I have more drive then ever to do this walk, I am going to make a difference in my own way. I don't know if all of you guys know but I HAVE TO RAISE $2,200 in donations or I have to pay the rest out of my own pocket. PLEASE if anyone can donate anything 5,10,20,50 dollars it will make a difference. There is a link in the top right corner of the blog that says make a donation, you can do it online( you can set up monthly payments also) or if you want to send in a check I can email you the donation form that you send in with your check. It's going to breast cancer research, just think if our children wouldn't have to worry about having this HORRIBLE cancer. Someday there will be a cure! Thank you so much!!

I walk...because I can.
I walk...because I believe.
And I will walk until a cure is found...

So tired...

I really should be in bed...but I thought I'd share something that has been on my mind today.  I think its so easy to forget, or sometimes not think about, but having a child is pretty much the best thing in the world.  As Addie was sleeping in our bed this morning and I was just laying there looking at her, I just realized how lucky we are to have a little daughter who's happy and healthy and how lucky Carrie and I are to be parents.  This little girl has changed my life so much and I would trade any second of it for anything the world!  Anyone who's a parent knows what I'm talking about and those that aren't, you'll see that your child will be the greatest gift you will ever receive.
