How can it be that 6 years has passed? It seems like just yesterday I was holding a tiny little baby, now that little baby is turning 6! She is now a little girl! I am so blessed to be her mother. She brings so much love, joy, and laughter to my life. She always keeps me on my toes, that's for sure!

Madison and Meah stayed with us for a little over a week. I tried to keep the girls busy with different activities.

San Diego day 3

To wrap up our great time in SD we heading to Seaport Village. Again all of these were taken with my phone so excuse the crappy pics. Something is better than nothing right?!

We went on a carriage ride

Later in the afternoon we went to a family friends community 4th of July festival. We all had a blast!

After the fireworks we met up with a family friend that is a cop. Addie has been fascinated with cops lately so she was so excited to see the car inside and out.

The female officer called Addie her new bff and gave her a sticker badge.

Overall we had a wonderful trip!

Friday before Mother's Day Addie's preschool had a little tea party and snacks for the moms The kids even sang to us! It was adorable!

Addie made me a flower pin and a card when I sat down.

The kids had their own snack time tea party.

It's days like this one that I will cherish forever. Thanks sweet girl for making Mother's Day special.

Last night Addie's preschool had their little graduation. The kids were asked to dress up like cowboy and cowgirls.

I found out that I can update the blog from my phone. Hopefully this will help me to do it more than once every 6 months.

Brian graduated with his MBA on the 30th of April. He had a huge cheering section. Bruce, Adell, Kevin, Gloria, my parents( Barb & Craig ) Tanya, Madison, Meah, Addie, and myself! Way to go honey! We are all so proud of you!

Addie's preschool class had a Mothers tea party last week! She even made me the cute flower pin on my shirt :)

This is the group that came from afar to be with me as I went to the temple. You guys have no idea what it meant to have you with me on that special day.

My mom was with us for the month of April. It was so great to have her! We had a blast! She took Addie on a little date when Brian and I went on our own date. I didn't do my dishes or laundry for a month. It was amazing! Thanks mom for everything! I love you!

My dad was able to be here for 2 weeks. He did so much handy work... He does it all..Builds shelves, sings to Addie, takes her swimming..love you dad!

We went to the mall to see the Easter bunny

Tanya and the girls flew in and surprised Brian the night before his graduation. It was the greatest surprise ever! T and I went to a little concert on sat night. It was a blast!

Addie loved having the girls to play with... Even if it was for less than 48 hours. We can wait for them to move here in a few weeks.

In march we went Disneyland. Every time we have gone we have taken this pic. We had to keep with it. It's fun to see how much Addie has grown over the last few years.

Breakfast with Santa

Okay so these pictures are pretty horrible but I had to put them up. Addie was in HEAVEN when we saw Santa after breakfast. Why I only took a few pics I am not sure but hey better some than none, right? She was so excited to sit on his lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. He was probably by far the greatest Santa I have ever seen! After she talked to Santa she got her arm painter by Cowboy JJ the elf...and let me tell you his stash was AMAZING!! That takes some serious time and commitment. We will for sure make this a tradition for our family!

Addie has been bugging/ begging us to get her a guinea pig for what seems like forever. We finally broke down last night after seeing and holding him. He is sweet and cuddly. We decided to name him Rhino. He is an early birthday present. Addie is in heaven!!!

A few days ago marked 1 year since my brother Matt died in Iraq. It is still crazy to me that my life kept going, even if at times I didn't want it to. I have to say now that it's been a year I know that all the firsts are over. The first Thanksgiving, Christmas, his birthday, Tanya and his wedding anniversary, all with out him here. I know that our family now has our own personal angel watching over us. Our lives and our hearts will never be same. I came across a few of my favorite pictures of him. I thought I would share.

I had the wonderful chance to spend the last 2 days at Time Out For Women. What an amazing event. I told my sweet friend April as we were leaving that I feel my cup is full in so many ways. My heart is full with gratitude for so many things, all my many blessings, the gospel , the love that I feel from so many people, the fact that myself and my family are healthy, and so many other things. The theme this year was Infinite Hope. We had the wonderful opportunity to hear from incredible women and a few great men. I want to share something that each person said that stuck out to me..

On Friday night a man by the name of Dallyn Bayles sang a few times though out the evening. Something about this man and his voice touched my heart more then I can explain. I cannot believe it has been 5 years since we said " I do"! We have had our fair share of trials but I feel they only make us stronger. We are so blessed to have a wonderful support system around us to help us along when the road gets bumpy. I feel we have both grown so much in the last 5 years. To celebrate our anniversary Gloria sent us ocean kayaking...We went on a super cool tour of some caves. We had a blast and would LOVE to do it again!

Looking at this pic you would think we flipped...I am proud to say we did not flip...not once!

That night we were spoiled and Glor sent us out to dinner. It was wonderful to have a day to just be us...not Mom and Dad, just Brian and Carrie.

I am excited to see where the next 5 years take us!

The last month or so has been busy to say the least. We were lucky enough to have these beautiful girls come and spend 3 weeks with us. We had a wonderful time and now have priceless memories of our time together. I am blessed to have such a wonderful sister-in-law, who just so happens to be one of the strongest, independent, beautiful women I know.

This last weekend we went to the river and had so much fun. Addie in more then happy playing in the water and making any and everything she wants out of sand. She has a bunch of her favorite people around her to play with. There is something about sitting on the boat, watching the sun go down, with wonderful people around you. It just reminds me of how it's the little things in life that being us joy. We have so much to be grateful for.

I have been a horrible blogger lately. It seems I take way too many pictures, and can't find the time to sit down and go through all of them. For now this will have to do. We FINALLY are a 2 car family again. It's been four long years with just one car. We have been looking into the Scion Xb for a long time now. The thing that sold us on it was the fact that we could have the driver seat as far back as it could go and Brian could still sit the in back seat and his knees didn't touch the driver seat. That doesn't happen for him very often. It looks small but it is VERY spacious. it gets the gas milage of a car but has the room of a SUV. We are over the moon excited about your new addition. I think we will call her Sally!

What we've been up to..

This weekend was a little crazy busy but fun! Bruce and Kevin were here from Thursday till Sunday. The Gloria aka Mimi was here for Sunday night. Here is a few pics from our weekend. Friday Bruce, Kevin, Addie, and myself went to the Phoenix Children's Museum. This is one of Addie's favorite places to go. She LOVES the shopping area, that is where we spent most of our time. Kevin and Bruce played along with her, and she had a blast!

Sunday we went to Jump and Shout to get Addie out of the house and it was raining so we headed out.

Mimi came and surprised Addie at Jump and Shout, Addie was over the moon excited to see her Mimi!
On Monday we all went and saw Dr. Snow, the greatest dentist ever! Addie and I got our cleaning done by Lisa. She was wonderful! Addie loved her!

Dr. Snow came in and said her teeth look great. :)

Addie was so excited that she got a cool prize out of the prize drawer. She chose a little cell phone thing that had little lip gloss stuff in it.
Yay for all of us being happy and healthy!

I really don't want to sit and type out a forever long blog post but I will post pics of what we have done this month.

We went to the zoo with April and Alyssa. The girls played more then they looked at the animals, but that's just fine with me.

February 3rd is my brother Matt's birthday. April had a wonderful idea and brought over balloons. We wrote notes to Matt's and sent them up to heaven for him.

We spend a weekend out in Yuma with Bruce (Brian's dad) and Adell. They took us to the Rodeo. Addie got to ride a pony, she loved every second of it.

It was Valentine's Day and Daddy got Addie a flower.

As you all saw from a previous post I feel bad I am always making something for someone else and my poor Addie doesn't get stuff made for her. I set a goal this weekend to make her a Crayon Roll and a Hooded Towel...I actually did it! I think they turned out pretty cute. Most importantly Addie LOVED them both!

She sees me make so much stuff and she always asks if it is for her. Sadly, it never is. I don't have any sewing orders right now, I am going to make some stuff for my little stinker.

I have ALWAYS had issues with sleeping, but ever since Matt (my brother) died a little over 3 months ago it has been much worse. Some nights are a little better then others. I close my eyes and I see his face, old pictures of him, memories that I have of him or with him. It just seems to be on repeat. Tonight is not one of the better. His death has hit me in waves. For a while I wondered if I was broken or something because it took me over a month to have my first really BIG melt down. We were in the car not talking about anything and I just burst into tears and couldn't stop them for the life of me. Three hours later I finally pulled it together. The second one was while I was cleaning out our loft, I came across a picture from about 7 years ago. It was a picture of me and my 3 siblings. To know we will never have a picture like that again. Us siblings started a tradition about 4 years ago. Any time that we took a picture of any of the siblings we would always leave a empty space for the missing sibling...I have 3 pictures where one of the four siblings is missing. We will forever have to leave a space for Matt. This photo was taken the day of his funeral.

Tonight is melt down number 3, laying in bed, closing my eyes and just flash backs to the funeral. Sometimes my mind gets the best of me and I just can't shut it off, no matter what I do. It's just crazy because I wonder will it ever REALLY become real for me that he is gone. It seems I can tell whoever, whenever, that my brother died in Iraq on November the 8th and it just doesn't seem real. In the back of my mind I keep thinking I will see him next Christmas or when we go visit he'll be there. I am so grateful that he was here with us on this earth for 29 years. I know I am a better person for having him in my life. I know he left this earth for a reason, even if we were ready for him to go or not.

Brian called me on my way home from taking him to work and told me Captain Phil Harris from The Deadliest Catch had passed away.
We have watched that show for way too long. I know it sounds totally crazy but it was almost like he told me that an old neighbor had died or something. The show will never be the same.

Addie and I walked to the park and library yesterday to get out of the house and enjoy the weather. It was beautiful outside.

Nothing is really new or exciting in our lives right now. That is why my poor blog has been neglected lately. I hope all of you are doing well.

I know I haven't blogged in forever but that's life! We had the Gould family over the other night for dinner, games, and fun! We made glitter play dough for the girls to keep them busy for a little bit. It turned out great and was a huge hit.

I am so behind in blogging it's crazy! This is me catching up..hold on for the ride.

We went to San Diego for Christmas and had a wonderful time, as always..We made cookies to leave out for Santa, Brian read the Night Before Christmas to Addie then we let her open a gift from my parents..shhh...it's always jammies.

A few days after Christmas we got the chance to go check out the fire station that Brian's brother Kevin works at. Kevin showed us all around and took us on a ride in the truck...

Addie's Birthday Party Weekend!

Wow! The last 72 hours have been complete craziness to say the least. Addie and I flew home on Thursday evening, Glor flew in Friday evening, and the party was Saturday. After Glor got in we went to dinner with Mike and Katie, then headed to Tempe Market Place to see the lights and just play around!

The party went well over all....no big problems and I think everyone had a great time! Addie requested a doughnut cake...she is a doughnut fan for sure!

When the party was over we headed to Bass Pro Shop, they had all kinds of stuff going on....Santa, crafts, and snow. I had never been in there and holy cow! It's a small village!

As I laid in bed tonight trying to find some way to shut off my brian and heart so I can sleep, thoughts keep rushing through my mind keeping me awake and crying.

So many lives will never be the same after yesterday. The world and my family lost a wonderful man, husband, father, son, a hero to many, my brother Matt.

He leaves behind a beautiful family, a wife and two wonderful girls. Our hearts are broken, just to think for a moment that we can't see that grin of his that can light up a room, hear his laugh, or see him play with his girls is one of the most painful things I will ever go through. He was a wonderful man that live life to the fullest...skydiving and all.

Keep my family, his wife Tanya, and his daughters Madison and Meah in your prayers.

Matt I love you more then you know, you will forever be missed.

Phoenix Children's Museum

My friend April and I took the girls to the Children's Museum on Friday night for FREE...thanks to Target! That place was AMAZING! They had a little waiting area before we could go in so it wouldn't get to crazy. They had a little hay maze play area and a bunch of sidewalk chalk.
I'm not sure if it's my camera or weird things going on at the CM but there is white spots in some of the photos....not sure what's going on.

They had a little craft for all the kids...they made a paper quilt.
I thought this was so cool..there is a little area for little kids and they have spaces for you do put your shoes. They wall has real shows that are covered in some spray stuff..
Of course they had a grocery store/ restaurant area that any child would LOVE..I knew this would be Addie's favorite place.

There is a noodle jungle that is seriously super cool..It is a crazy amount of pool noodles hanging in a pretty big area. Once you make your way through then there is a room with some toys, tables, and chairs..It was also a big hit with the girls.

We had a blast, as you can see! Thanks for the invite April!

We started everything off by carving pumpkins on Thursday night with Mike and Katie. I think this was Addie's first time getting into carving pumpkins. She dug getting her hands in and getting the seeds and stuff out. I wore gloves cause the insides burns my hands, when I was done Addie wanted to try them out.

I was lucky enough to go to Utah to spend some time with my cousin Jen who is going through chemo for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Her hair started thinning a week or so ago, I told her from the beginning if she loses her hair I would let her shave my head. My thoughts is no woman should have to go through having no hair on her own... So her step mom sent me an email about a week or so ago and asked me if I would be able to come out and spend a long weekend with Jen and be there when she shaves her head. Of course I couldn't say no, I jumped at the chance to have some "me" time away with one of my best friends. I flew in on Friday afternoon just in time to be there when they were starting chemo. The look on her face was priceless. We pulled off a pretty good surprise!

After Chemo we headed up to Heber City to spend time at her in laws house...There house is

heaven on earth. In the mountains with a beautiful view. It helps that they are some of the sweetest people ever. We ate some great food and have a wonderful time.

Is she not one beautiful woman!

Saturday was the big day....we shaved our heads that late afternoon. Jen wanted to go first and told me she wanted me to shave hers then she would shave mine. We had my sister and her sister on skype while we did it and one of Jens best friends Des was also there.

I know I have been not so great blogging but between Brian's broken foot, Addie starting preschool, and life, I have been very busy. This is what we have been doing.

A few weeks ago Brian fractured his foot in 7 places. The X's is where all the fractures are.

They casted him 2 weeks ago, we decided to add some Charger flair to the cast.

Last Thursday was Addie's first day of preschool. We are doing a mom co-op thing. So I teach about once a month. She loves it and looks forward to it every week. This is the 4 girls in the class.

We are finally getting a break in the heat, and it is quickly cooling off. We have been enjoying going to the park.
We were also lucky enough to have Glor come out and visit us for 3 days. She brought her new puppy Manny. I was sure Addie thought she had died and gone to heaven. She wants a puppy so bad. We had so much fun with Glor.

I surprise my friend April for a early birthday present and took her to go see her favorite Christian band Casting Crowns. They are wonderful and their music is something that so many people can relate to. We had so much fun, and I am so glad that April and I were able to have a kid free night and have a good time.

We waited for a little bit so we could get a cd signed for April.

April and I talked a little last night and were laughing about how neither of us ever thought that we would be "great" friends. Maybe hang out every now and then. Little did we know what was coming. I know that the Lord put us into eachothers lives at a period of time were both of us needed. I can't imagine going through some of trials we have in the last 6 months with out her as my friend. I am blessed to have her in my life. April I hope you know what you mean to me!

Addie's first real dentist appt.

We were told about a wonderful dentist from one of Brian's cousins. Brian and I have been going to him for over a year now and LOVE HIM!! I know loving the dentist sounds crazy but honestly he is the greatest man. If you live in the Phoenix metro area he is worth any drive to get to him. His name is Dr. Paul Snow.

Anyways moving on the the good stuff..Addie had her first real appointment, cleaning and all. She was so excited to go and she did AWESOME!! Daniella was fabulous, she explained everything to Addie.

They call the suction thing Mr. Thristy. She thought it was SUPER funny how it worked.

After the cleaning Dr. Snow came and talked to her and checked her teeth out. He said they look great and no problems.

Addie had a hay day in the prize drawer. Over all a wonderful first visit!

Let me tell you a little something about My Love (inside joke)...not my hubby....my cousin Jen. She is beautiful, caring, loving, funny, kind, and also one of my very best friends. We are only a year and a few weeks apart. We lost her mom/my aunt a few years ago to breast cancer. This girl has been through so much! She found a lump on her neck for a few months ago but didn't have insurance, so she waited a little bit till they were covered went in to a doc and he said they needed to do a biopsy. She has battled with her insurance for a while now and finally got the okay to have one done on it. She had it done yesterday, we all hoped for the best but were afraid for the worst. She called me this afternoon and told me that it is lymphoma cancer. She said they that will do chemo, but she has an appt on Friday. They will run a bunch of test and figure out what the game plan is. She has a lot going for her being young and healthy, but who knows what God has in store for her during this huge trial.

I beg of you all to PLEASE pray for her. She is one of the most amazing women I know, my life would not be the same with out her.

I love you Jen!

April and myself took Addie and Alyssa to the zoo and a splash park yesterday. We had a great time, the only downer is it's still HOT here. We saw a few animals, bear, iguana, elephants, birds, and giraffe...I figure you all know what they look like so you don't need pictures of them. April and I split a season pass so we are going to try and got once a week when it cools off a little.

Friday night 2 of Addie's friends had a sleep over at our house.
Swimming time!

Glor got a new movie for Addie so after a few Oreos and milk everyone snuggled up to watch the movie.

Saturday we had a birthday party, then we stayed the night at The Buttes Resort with Glor. They have a really cool pool, and an awesome water slide we all enjoyed. Glor was in town for a family reunion of a friend and they invited all of us to come...It was too much fun!

Addie LOVED this slide..she went down well over 50 times.

This morning one of my friends invited Addie and I to come swimming at her moms house. Of course we said YES! We had so much fun! Addie is doing awesome at swimming. She can totally swim on her own. The first few minutes in the pool I had her floaties on just so she would feel comfortable going down the side. She LOVED the slide. After about 15 minutes in the water she was ready to ditch the floaties, and she swam like a champ. Here are a few pictures from our fun filled morning.

I was blog hopping the other day and came across this idea and I LOVED it! It's from makeitandloveit.blogspot.com, on the side there is labels. It is called the picture frame dry erase board. I cleaned out our loft today and found a old pic frame to use, spray paint from an old project, and scrap fabric that matches our kitchen stuff. It seriously took maybe 30 min from start to finish.

Our friends had told us about this pizza place that they thought Addie would love. They said it had a really cool organ and all kinds of awesome stuff. We decided to check it out tonight and we had a great time. The food was okay but the entertainment was great! As we were leaving I saw that it say please no flash photography...oops, my bad!

When we walked in this is what we saw...the flash totally jacked up the pic but with out a flash it was too dark. There is pipes and pipes and more pipes and a HUGE organ.

Brian's dad had given us an old entertainment center that was white washed. I am not a big fan of white wash, I decided to paint it black. It took a while to sand it down and get the 2 coats on but I am really happy with how it turned out. I think it changes the feeling of our living/family room.

Idaho Trip...

Our trip was 2 weeks of chaos. Between 9 people staying in a 3 bedroom house, 2 hospital visits, a 6 hour road trip, lots of park trips, and some serious family time, we were very busy.

One of the days went swimming at a natural hot spring place about 20 minutes away. All the kids but 1 went of the high dive, and went down the water slide. Addie LOVED it, she thought she was such a big girl.

We were able to drive up and see my Grandma for 2 days, it was wonderful to be able to spend some time with her. We always have great talks. Addie just loves her Grandma Veris

We spent a few of the afternoons at the park...the kids loved doing the train down the slide.

The reason that I went out to Twin Falls was for one of my dear friends KP. She graduated from the first part of nursing school. We were able to go to her graduation and we had cake and ice cream back at my parents house after.

After everyone left that night we were all on a crazy sugar high and we a little nuts. My sister thought it would be funny to put black frosting on everyones teeth...we had a good laugh!

Addie LOVES my parents dog Coy. Poor Coy is so great with putting up with Addie and all the things she does to her....this was just one of them, she thought it up all on her own and thought she was SUPER FUNNY!!

It was great to be able to spend some time with my brother and his family. The kids got along great, and played well together.

We had a wonderful time with everyone. We had our ups and downs this trip but I think Addie and I were there at that time for a reason. We couldn't get through all our trials with out the love and support of our family and friends.

Four years ago on this day Brian and I said our wedding vows. Some days it feels like we have been together forever, others it seems like it was just yesterday. We've had our ups and downs like most couples have, but today my heart is overflowing with love for my sweet husband. He does so much for our family if it's working long ours, giving us up for 2 long weeks for me to have some family time, or sneaking upstairs to fold the laundry. Brian is a wonderful husband, a fabulous fun dad, and a loving and caring man. I am so lucky to have him as my spouse.

Honey, I love you from the bottom of my soul. You make me happy, and complete my life. I can't wait to see what the future brings for us. ;) I miss you and will see you in a few days.

My niece Cailey has a Barbie Jeep. Addie has been wanting one forever but I just can't bring myself to fork out the money to get her one. She was able to take Cailey's for a little test drive, she thought she was hot stuff and couldn't stop smiling.

So I feel kinda weird asking for this but if I could BEG all of you to pray for me that would be great. There is a lot going on right now with me medically and I need some help. I haven't been able to sleep for 4 nights, I was able to nap for an hour today. I am completely exhausted mentally, emotionally, and physically. I need to be able to rest and heal to get past this. Thank you so much!

As I lay here in some pretty good pain from last nights events I decided I need to do something to get my mind off the pain. ( I was in the ER last night for 5 hours in horrible pain from an ovarian cyst rupturing).

We headed to San Diego on 7/1 to meet up with my Brother Matt, his wife Tanya, their girls Madison and Meah, and my parents. We went to Sea World on the 3rd, We had a wonderful time!

I know I have been MIA but I am alive I promise. We where in San Diego visiting with my parents and my brother and his family. Then Addie and I took the trek back to Idaho with my parents to visit the rest of my family for 13 days. I feel like I haven't taken a breath since I got here but it has been so much fun. I will try and do a post with pics tomorrow when things won't be so busy. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Loves to all!

I had seen this kid fun place while I was running errands a few days ago. We decided to go the other day. It's called Jump and Shout. It was a BLAST!! It's 9 bucks per child and parents are free. There is 3 HUGE bounce house things, 3 slides, and a TON of cargo net climbing areas. It is totally parent and kid friendly. We all had so much fun! Here is a video of some of our good times.

Just another day

Do you ever have those days that you feel your child is doing everything they can to disobey? Today was one of those days in our house. Once Brian and I realized we weren't going to be able to go on our afternoon date we thought we would do something fun as a family. I had just seen a place over by us called Jump and Shout, it's like an indoor playground with bounce houses and a big jungle gym thing. I knew Addie would LOVE IT. Then Addie decided to make some really bad choices, one of them being writing on our sofa with a pen. We chose not to go after that. We made her have some quiet time in her room. When that was over Brian and Addie were playing around and she loves "hiding" In the luvsac cover so Brian zipped up everything but her head. They both thought is was super funny!

The day went on and she did a little better so we went swimming at our pool to burn some of her energy. It worked. I took her up to bed and read her two shorter books, she was already nodding off. After the books were over I played with her hair and stroked her face and she was OUT with in 3 minutes. It was then that I thought no matter how bad the day is it always comes to an end and I do love my child.. She looks so sweet when she sleeps. I had to take a picture.

I have had a really hard time with figuring out a daily list of "chores" I need to get done. I always end up going crazy a day or so a week cleaning like crazy cause the house just gets our of control. I decided to come up with a REALISTIC daily chore chart. Mostly to minimize my stress and to keep things tidy. This is what I came up with.

Daily Chore Chart

Monday-
* Run and fold a load of laundry
* Keep dishes out of the sink, and have kitchen clean
* Vacuum the floor and rug downstairs

Tuesday-

Yesterday when I took Brian to an appointment I had dropped him off and was waiting in the car and this song came on. I had heard it once before on a day that I really needed to hear it. Yesterday was another one of those days. The lyrics were just want I needed. My friend April always reminds me that things like that aren't just a coincidence. Our Heavenly Father knows us and the pain that we deal with. I thought I would share this song and the lyrics. Maybe I am not the only one that needs to hear these words. Brian and I have been talking about this "new" blog that I am going to do. He STRONGLY feels that it should be a family ONLY blog. I don't fully understand why but when this has to do with personal stuff I have to go with what the both of us are comfortable with. I am sorry for the confusion. :(

Homemade Play-doh!!

Addie and I sit down and play with play-doh on a VERY regular basis. We have gone through many tubs of it after it drying out. I decided to try and be Suzy Homemaker and make some play-doh myself. I found the recipe out of a family cook book we have.

Homemade Play-doh

1 cup flour
1/2 salt
1 tsp veg oil
2 tsp cream of tarter
1 cup water

Mix all ingredients in a non-stick pan or double boiler. Cook over low-med heat. Stir until it forms a ball-ish look. Remove from heat, take it out of pan and let it cool. Add food coloring to make your favorite colors. Store in air tight containers. Play and enjoy!

I doubled it this recipe, it didn't look like it was going to make much without doubling. It ended up being perfect. It filled 6 old play-doh tubs. The only thing that sucked was after all the stirring and kneading my arms are about to fall off, but it was well worth it. We had so much fun!

We made blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, and purple.
The PERFECT amount to fill 6 tubs!

I feel like a dork for not blogging at all. I really don't have anything exciting to blog about. We got home on Sunday from San Diego. I was lost in piles of laundry on Monday, I had blankets to make yesterday, and today with some awesome Mommas we took the kids to a little splash park. I forgot to take pictures. Bad mom I know. We are still alive just living life day by day.

We have been having a great time in San Diego. We were able to see a lot of family because we lost one of Brian's great uncles, so everyone was in town for the services.

On Sunday we all went to the beach for a bit and played around. All the boys played a frisbee game called 3 flies up, all the girls sat with the kiddos and watched. It was so fun to watch, we had some great laughs.

Addie was running in the water and tripped, the front of her was soaked and the back was completely dry.

Sunday evening we went over to Brian's great aunts house for a little family dinner. One of Brian's aunts brought some old pictures of family. I have only seen one picture of Brian's grandpa and grandma Izzy Krainock, it was awesome to see them. It brought back some great memories for Brian. Here are some of the pictures.

During the service on Monday Auntie Vic being the wonderful woman that she is said that she would watch Addie for us. She took Addie to the LegoLand Aquarium. Addie had a blast!

Monday night those of us who were still in town had a bonfire at the beach. We roasted hot dogs and made s'mores. Good times!!

weekend fun

On Saturday while the boys went and played frisbee golf us girls went to Balboa Park and rented a surrey. They have a little basket in the front for little kids and Addie LOVED it. We had so much fun! After the surrey ride we enjoyed a yummy ice cream cone and relaxed on the grass and soaked up the wonderful weather.

Glor was Bird sitting for a friend over the weekend. It's name is Bobo, Addie called him Tweety. She thought he was pretty cool, until he tried to give her a "kiss".

On Monday after Brian left to head home us girls went to one of our favorite parks around here.

Padres Game!

We were lucky enough to go to a San Diego Padres game on Friday night. We had a BLAST! Brian and Kevin got box field seats, a big thanks to Glor. Addie, Glor, and I were wanting to get in the kid area. They told us they were sold out so we just decided to hang out on the lawn area and then hoped that we could get into the kid area at some point. Glor saw a couple leaving the area around the 5th inning, so she asked them if we could have their tickets. They were super nice and handed them over. Addie was free at last to go play in the sand pit. On top of the Padres winning we were able to go on the field and watch fireworks. It was SO awesome to be able to go on the field. I have always wanted to feel the grass on a baseball field. It was pretty much the most amazing grass ever. Me being to weirdo I am I even took a picture of it!

I am on a apron kick. I may have a chance to put them in a boutique in Scottsdale, I am not holding my breath but it would be great. If anyone is interested in having one made let me know. I have made matching "Mommy and Me" aprons, or just kiddie aprons.

My friend April whom I talk about all the time because she is wonderful invited us to go to a ASU baseball game with her and her family. I was super excited when I found out they were going to be playing the Oregon Ducks. We had a wonderful time! For some reason I only took a few pics. Anyway, here they are.

Yesterday I decided to get out of the house and check out this indoor park thing with little rides, games, and a jungle gym thing. I was really excited to take her, we got there and paid, later to see the sign "sorry our AC is broken". About an hour into the fun we both started to get really warm, it was just muggy cause there was no moving air. We had a good time besides that.

HELP! Please!

Addie has been having sleeping issues for a few weeks now. She has been waking up between 2-4 a.m. and not going back to sleep for 2-4 hours. After this had been happening for a week or so I decided to try and figure out what her deal was. We were letting her watch a movie in her room while she is going to sleep. I cut that out and now I just play Jim Brickman now. When she wakes up in she always asks to watch a movie, I tell her no and that she needs to go back to sleep. She comes in our room and tells me every reason why she either needs to sleep with us or watch a movie. I know it would make my life easier if I just put a movie in but it hasn't stopped her from waking up night after night, so it can't keep happening.

Have any of you had to deal with this with any of your kids? What did you do?

One of my great friends told me that she put her child in the time out chair when they would wake up and get out of bed. I think I may do that. If she gets out and come in to our room( for nothing important), put the chair in her room, buckle her in, and leave her in it for a bit. At first I thought it was a little much but the more I think about it I think it will work. I think if she learns to know that she needs to stay in her bed as long as it is dark outside or she will be put in the time out chair. You would think staying in her bed would be a lot more fun then going in the chair. What are your thoughts? Thanks so much!!!

Flash Cards

I have been trying to work with Addie for a long while now on her letters, numbers, and colors. For some reason she still gets a little mixed up. I thought it may help to get some flash cards. I googled toddler flash cards and found a bunch of websites where you can just print them off and cut them out for free. I did just that. I think they turned out pretty good for free! I worked with her a bit today on her numbers and colors and she did pretty well. I could tell when she was getting a little overwhelmed cause she just started blurting out a bunch of different answers. I guess in due time it will all click, hopefully before she is 10.

I got a Mother's Day card from one of my bestest (yes, I know that isn't a real word) friend KP (caw caw) today and I opened it. It was one of those musical cards. Addie LOVES these cards. She started dancing her little heart out when the music started, I grabbed the Flip and started recording...Here is she Dancing away!
