Playin in the rain!!!

Last night we had a AWESOME storm, the lightning was like nothing I have seen before. It honestly looked like a strobe light. It was raining really hard and we decided to go have some fun...We went and stood outside for a bit watching the lightning, and ran through a huge puddle a few times...We had a BLAST!!!

Our Addie Kay!!

I thought I would do a little update on Addie and everything going on with her...
*She is talking, and talking, and talking some more. Morning, noon, and night. Who know where she got that from?? ha ha. Everyday some thing new comes out of her mouth, I love to see her thinking of the right words to put together to let me know what she is talking about or needs.
*She is all about trying to do EVERYTHING on her own. She has this little red chair that she uses to give her an extra foot or so of hight to reach whatever it is that she thinks she needs.
*We have been having some issues on getting her to sleep in her own bed the whole night, most of the time she tries to sneak in our bed 2-3 times a night, it makes me slightly crazy. Any tips would be WONDERFUL....
*She is doing really well with potty training. The only time she wears a pull-up is at night and if we are going to be out running errands for a while, even then she most of the time will let us know when she needs to go.
*Any time she draws or colors she always asks " That beautiful?" Or " Pretty, Huh?"
* She is crazy about her babies, she almost always has one with her when we go somewhere or just hangin around the house. She wraps them up, pat them and rock them, then says " shhh, sleeping."
* She just got the hang of her bike we got her for her last birthday, it took a while but now she's on the move. Once it cools down it will be nice to go play outside alot more.
* She is a complete ball of fire and ALWAYS on the move, she keeps us on our toes thats for sure. We are blessed to have her as our daughter.

* The other day she yelled at me saying she was stuck, I went in to the bathroom and saw this...I laughed super hard and had to take a pic..

I am so proud of ME!!

Okay so I have gone somewhat granola but I am thinking that when we do have a second baby I am going to do cloth diapers. Alot of people think it's totally crazy but things have changed. You can find a million different cloth diaper styles and fabrics now it's not a piece of cloth and pins anymore. The baby I watch is in cloth so I am very familiar with them how to use them and the good and bads. I have been trying to be mindful of our environment and the things that I can change that will make a bit of a difference, also it's cheaper (you can use them and then sell them and make back half if not more of the money you spent). I kinda think if I make one every now and then by the time I have second one I will have a good size stash. I found a website online with this diaper called the KCK one, I bought the pattern and supplies to make 3 diapers all for $20. If you just buy this diaper it sells for $18. I started making one in Idaho with my moms help and I finished it today...I am so excited to finally have one done, I would say from start to finish without kids interruptions I could make one in about an hour or so. I just had to share... here is the link to the site and about the diaper http://hyenacart.com/kaylasclothkits/index.php?c=52&p=55604

Time to educate yourself...

So I found an interesting article on the Washington Post today comparing both candidates Tax Proposals. I find it funny because many people seem to worry about struggling financially under a Democratic Tax policy. Well from the the article, "According to a new analysis by the Tax Policy Center, a joint project of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain are both proposing tax plans that would result in cuts for most American families. Obama's plan gives the biggest cuts to those who make the least, while McCain would give the largest cuts to the very wealthy. For the approximately 147,000 families that make up the top 0.1 percent of the income scale, the difference between the two plans is stark. While McCain offers a $269,364 tax cut, Obama would raise their taxes, on average, by $701,885 - a difference of nearly $1 million." There is also a graphical representation on the article if you care to look that shows the breakdown. What I find funny is that under Obama's proposal, unless you make more than $603,402 a year, you will not be seeing any increase in taxes. Is there anyone that even reads this blog that makes more than $603,402 a year?? So if high taxes was a worry that kept you from considering voting for Obama, you may want to re-think that before you cast your vote this November.

Back on track...

So things were not so great for while with alot of different things...I was in and out of town for a few weeks and with some family issues it took all I had to keep my head above water. My house was a complete disaster top to bottom( that always makes me feel like I'm a mess) Also I hadn't walked in a few weeks and I was feeling horribly guilty for that. This last sunday we spent pretty much all day folding wash, cleaning, and moving Addie back down stairs. Now that I am feeling like I am a bit more in control of the things around me I went to the gym last night, it felt amazing to get back into the groove. I am so thankful for the positive people in my life, whenever I find myself flat on my back on the ground there is always someone there for me helping me back up. Now that I am on my feet again I am trying to stay positive when dealing with life. I have a clean house, healthy marriage, VERY active child, and  fabulous support around me.....life is good.

Growing to fast!

I should have posted this forever ago but i kept forgetting. On our annivecery KP watched Addie for us. We got home from dinner and KP sent Addie down the stairs with a little gift for us...It was one of the cutest pictures I have ever seen that said " I love Mommy and Daddy bunches...love Grumpy Pants ( we had a joke going on and Addie would tell us if she was wearing happy pants or grumpy pants) and a little drawing from Addie for Brian and I. It was wonderful to have KP around for the summer, she was a huge help around the house and with Addie..We will miss her tons..

Finally some pics..

We had a wonderful time in Idaho seeing family and spending a few very needed days away from Arizona. We had a blast with Papa, Grandma, Uncle Nate, Aunt Kelley, Braxton, Zoey, and Addie's new best friend Coy. Addie and I saw our very first humming bird nest, we were also there when the eggs hatched so we were able to see the babies. Addie had tons of fun with Papa, Mowing the lawn, getting him in the tiny pool, hangin out in his office, and watching movies. Grandma and Addie also did fun things like, watering the flowers, catching grasshoppers, and taking Coy on walks. Here are a few highlights from the trip.

I couldn't ask for more..

After 15 hours of driving we finally arrived in Twin Falls at 1:30 a.m this morning. I have to say I was pretty nervous about how Addie would do in the car for that long. She did wonderful. One mild meltdown for a couple minutes but other then that she did great. It was a wonderful surprise to my mom I thought she was going to pass out when she saw us this morning.
Addie is running around like a crazy monkey right now burning all the energy for yesterday and today. She is having fun rolling all over my parents dog Koy, playing with poker chips, and chasing aroung Papa. I will try and do little updates here and there...
