Obama Rally!!!

Our family and a few friends went to the Obama rally last night. I feel as though we are part of history in the making, we finally have hope for our future and even better our childrens future. I got the chills numorous times hearing his voice and the croud roaring. He had many incouraging things to say and we loved being a part of it. Addie was pretty funny, she was right there with us yelling and clapping the whole way. Barack Obama is a wonderful man with great ways that he plans to make the change that our country needs so badly right now. So those are my thoughts on that!

I'm not loving 2!

I know I need to put some pics up and I will soon, I promise. Someone please just tell me it's not just my child and that it will go away....I swear it was over night, Addie went from being a pretty good girl, to being a nightmare...Is it just being TWO?? I feel like no matter what I say, or how I go about doing it she disobeys, tells me NO, or screams "AWWW" at me. It is totally making me CRAZY, and I am not dealing well with it. I have been trying to be more constant with the "naughty mat", but I just feel like it is making everything so much WORSE. She is also into hitting and pushing!! SOMEONE HELP!!! Addie has always been really active and super busy and I am fine with that, but now she is also thinking that naptime is a joke. One more thing I am not swallowing to well. I am reading the Baby Whisperer for toddler book and it is helpful but I just don't have a ton of time to sit and read it, so it's just a chapter her and one there. So anyone PLEASE help.

Heaven is singing today!

The world lost a wonderful man yesterday. He passed at the age of 97, now that is living life to the fullest. I can't even imagine with Heaven was like when they welcomed him. The President of the LDS faith Gordon B. Hinckley could light the room with his smile, just by looking at him your heart would melt. He seemed to be such a kind, sweet, soft spoken, full of life man.

Are you kidding me??

So apparently Mike Huckabee is making his stand the next Bush. It seems that with all that is going on in this world, the war in Iraq, our Economy on the verge of a complete recession, etc etc. Mike's top priority if he were to be elected as the next president would be to create a consitutional ammendment to ban gay marraige. What the hell is wrong with this man and his supporters that feel that an issue like gay marraige is so much more than the problems we have with the war and the insane amount of debt it shovels on our country's plate with each passing week, or the fact that our economy is worsening each day?

If he gets elected to president, don't blame us! And Buckle up because it will be a minimum of 4 more years of what you got from Bush, national debt and the rich getting richer while we try and fit the bill.

Our First Outing!

Today I got brave and took the two girls to the park to get out of the house. It went really well, I was super worried that one of them would freak out but no one did. Not even ME!!

We've got a funny one!

Addie cracks me up everyday all day! Brain is off with the "guys" playing Xbox and so I decided that Addie and I should make cookies. While making the cookies Addie was helping me stir and she looked at me and said "helping"! Then I grabbed out the mixer and right when she saw it she made the noise it makes " ROAR" It was so cute. I must make cookies to much for her to know the sound it makes. She just says things that catch me off guard. I love her tons, I feel like I just have a blast with her everyday.

Big Girl!

Last night Addie was sitting on me and I was laying down, I looked at her and relized she is a little girl now. She looked so big to me. I told Bri to grab the camara and I took this pic. I think she looks super cute. But hey I'm her mom!
Today I took Addie for her 2 year check up and shots..
:( Dr. Auxier said she looks great and is growing as
she should be. She is 23 lbs and 2 oz and 35 Inches
tall. When the nurse came in to do the shots she had
the two band-aids on her shirt, right away Addie saw
them and said "pretty". I told Addie that the nurse
was going to give her a poke in each arm then put a
pretty band-aid on. Her response was "k". She gave her
the first shot, she said "owe" and then was fine
after the band-aid was on. She did great with the
second one also, she said "owe" a couple times but was
such a big girl about the whole thing.

Our little Copy Cat

I thought I would do a little update on Addie Kay, how she's doing and what's going on since she had the tubes put in about a month ago. For the most part everything is great and I am so glad that we did it. The only thing that kinda sucks is the fact that she can't get any water in her ears at all, so we have to put earplugs in and she has now figured out how to take them out...She has done it a few times now mid bath or shower with shampoo in her hair and it is impossible to put them back in once her ear gets damp at all. A week or so Post-OP I noticed she started mimicking us alot. She will pretty much say anything you tell her to. Her vocabulary has grown a bunch, she seems to pick up a word or two everyday. She isn't putting words together yet, but I am trying to not get worried. I just need to remember that she had some catching up to do with speech and that takes time, but for the most part it is a blast to see our little girl grow and change.

Laugh out Loud!!!

I just stayed up WAY TO LATE watching one of the funniest TV shows ever...I know it sounds totally lame but it's on VH1 and it is "Scott Baio is 46 and Pregnant". Tonight was the premiere, it will for sure be one of my regular shows to watch. I have never seen a guy to HORRIFIED to have a child or commit to anything, they way he reacts to everything is so funny...I just had to share.

Our First Pet!!!

Tonight we made a huge step and added a pet to our family. Brian and I have been talking for a while about getting Addie a little pet but I am so not getting a dog until we have a house with a backyard and she is old enough to feed it. She is crazy about any animal/sea life, so we decided to go with a fish. I picked him out, Bri really didn't seem to care too much. I think he is really cool. He is bright blue and silverish. We got in the car after getting him and we said Addie what she wanted to name him and without skipping a beat she said "Cow"!! I asked her a million times and gave her a few more options and she just kept saying "Cow". Addie loves him and can't get enough of watching him. Ladies and Gentlemen.....Introducing Cow!!!!

Blogger Changes

So as you can tell, we've made some changes to our blog. I personally liked the other one a lot, but Carrie wanted to change it because she was tired of looking at the same old thing. After a little bit of looking around we found one that we both could agree on.

Hope you all enjoy it!

Sleep...Grr...

So we are still a little off with our sleeping times in this house...We haven't been going to be till almost 12 every night, so when morning comes around I feel like death. This weekend I am going to try and get all of us back on somewhat of a better sleeping routine, cause this isn't working to well. Also I start watching Sofia at 7:30am on Monday...so we have to get it all worked out...

Little changes...

So there are a few little changes going on in our house...

There is a little baby in our house now...One of my great friends and next door neighbor Amiee is now studying for medical school boards and I am so lucky to get to watch their little 4 month old baby Sofia. I watched her for the first time yesterday, she did great. Amiee has been working hard to get Sofia on a wonderful rutine so we know what she needs and wants when she gets upset. She is such a little joy to have around our house. Addie LOVES her, sometimes a little too much. She wants to be so helpful, getting her toys, a diaper and wipes. We are so excited to have the bundle of joy around!

Addie is pretty much potty training herself! Yeah I said it and knock on wood it won't come back to bite me. She has been going on the potty off and on for a while but two days ago I guess Addie thought she was for sure ready to be a "big girl". She will now strip down her bottom half, yell to tell everyone around what she is doing, and go flying through the bathroom door to hop on the potty. Once she goes she will yell till someone goes in there to cheer for her, then she asks for M&M's. Today she has gone potty a few times, and doing pretty good. I just really don't want to push her, so I am letting her do it kinda on her own time.

We are trying to go about 40% organic...we want to be and raise our family with a little more healthy natural foods. Some of the food is a little more costly but we are will to make some changes. Amiee and Adam have given us some great pointers in our process...she told me about this website www.ewg.org has a bunch of great info. One of the things that she told me about is http://www.foodnews.org/walletguide.php that gives you a top 12 worst/ best items guide to what produce has the most/least pesticides. Another little change I made is in a few of my cleaning products, Instead of using harsh kitchen/bathroom cleaning sprays to use about 50/50 water and viniger. It still does a wonderful job.

unpacking... :(

So I hate unpacking...Our house looks like it was turned upside down. I just feel like I have a mountain to climb of crap. I don't like having my house look like this, I just need to do a little bit at a time and not freak out. Oh and I took Addie to her post op appt for her tubes and after waiting an hour the doc came in looked in Addie's ears and said they look great, asked if I had any questions and walked out... It was lovely...but I'm glad everything has healed right. Thats the scoop....

On the road again...

We flew back from Kauai yesterday. We had a layover in Honalulu for two and a half hours. My Brother Matt, his wife Tanya, and their two daughters Madison and Meah just moved to Oahu and came to the airport and saw us for about an hour. It was short but awesome to see them. Addie did great on the flights, the first flight was only 30 min. but the second one she slept almost 4 of the 5 hours so that was great! We got into San Diego at 10pm and were up with Gloria talkin till 2 a.m. She was so excited to see Addie. Everytime we leave San Diego it gets harder and harder, we just know/feel that we should be there and hopefully within the next year or so when Bri is done with school we can move out there. We had to hit the road this afternoon to head back home, we didn't leave till almost 5pm ( alot later then I wanted) and the weather was nasty. It was raining like crazy, super foggy, and windy. We decited to stay in Yuma ( half way) in Brian's dads get away house and we are going to drive the other 3 hours in the morning.
We had a great time in Kauai ( thanks Bruce), I haven't been there before and it is truly beautiful....the only thing i could say to explain it to anyone is everything just looks so ALIVE! It's all such bright colors.....so GREEN!!! I loved it. Here are a few of my favorite pics...I will do a slideshow later...its 1 a.m. and I need to go to bed.
