This evening we decided to carve our pumpkins. Addie pretty much just got into the nasty insides of the pumpkins, she thought it was pretty cool to get all slimy. Brian wanted to do some Nintendo thing or another, he went with goomba. I just went to town and ended up with a every special little pumpkin. Addie pulled all her nasties out and then I did eyes nose and mouth. Here's a few pics from our night of fun!

Fun at a Pumpkin Patch!
We went to a great pumpkin patch the other day. They had hay rides, petting zoo, and a bouncy house. Addie had a great time, we went with our neighbor Nancy and her son Hayden who Addie LOVES.
Addie and Daddy making the crazy face..
Trying to find that perfect little pumpkin
She found it!
This is how it turned out after Addie put stickers on it...she thought this was so fun!

Good clean fun!
I saw this on a family members blog. I thought it was pretty funny...What does your fridge say about you??? Find out!
This is what mine says about me I guess....
This is what mine says about me I guess....
What Your Fridge Says About You? |
You aren't greedy, but you don't really deprive yourself either. You strike a good balance with the stuff you buy. You are a very thrifty person. You don't like to waste money... or food. You are a very adventurous person. You love to try new things, and you get bored very easily. You are responsible, together, and mature. You act like an adult, even when you don't feel like it. You are likely to be married - and very busy. |
Any advice would be great...
I don't mean to be Debbie Downer but Gloria's( my mom in law) dog is dying and has been for a bit now. Addie LOVES LOVES this dog and talks about her all the time. She has taken a huge turn for the worse and Glor feels that it would be best to put her down tomorrow evening. My question is how do I explain this to Addie ? We have been trying to tell her that she is very sick and isn't doing well. Addie just doesn't get it. She asked tonight if Aspen was doing better. I don't want to tell her she went to sleep and didn't wake up cause then she'll think that when people go to sleep they won't wake up....PLEASE PLEASE help me. Anything at all would help. We are going to have to explain this to her in the next day or so. Thanks

Amazing photos...
Brian send me a link to this slideshowish thing. It is pictures of the behind the campain of Barack Obama and his family. It doesn't matter who you are voting these pictures are just amazing.
This is two of my favorite pics with the captions..
Senator Obama was doing press interviews by telephone in a holding room between events. Sometime later as he was getting ready to begin his event, he asked me if I was photographing his shoes. When I said yes, he told me that he had already had them resoled once since he entered the race a year earlier. Providence, R.I., 3/1/2008.
It was primary morning in New Hampshire. Barack and Michelle Obama had been campaigning separately all week. In the first few months of 2008 their private time seemed to consist of a few crossover moments in back hallways before rallies. This moment was rare and you could tell they just loved being able to sit together. Jan. 8, 2008.

What a great visit!
Thursday, October 16, 2008
I have a confession I have a tendency to feel that it is my mission in life to help everyone with all of there problems, and somehow make them go away. It seems that no matter what I do I can't manage to save the world. I have lost many nights of sleep over worrying about other people and the issues that they are going through. I know everyone but me has known about this quote or prayer called The Serenity Prayer. I have printed it out and put it up in my house as a little reminder to myself that I can only control myself and the choices I make.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Race for the Cure...
So I joined Carrie and Barb, Jen on Sunday for the Race for the cure and took quite a bit of footage that will end up becoming a miscellaneous video project I will be doing for work. Its going to be a 3 min. narrative (short story) but its going to be just video clips, pics, and music...no actual dialogue. Anyway, just kind of curious as to what everyone's thoughts are on me posting the final video on the blog.
Sound off in the comments below and let us know if you wanna see it.
The Race for the Cure 2008!
My Mom and my cousin Jen Came out for the Race for the Cure. We did it yesterday morning. We had a wonderful time, and it meant a lot to all of us to do it. Jen's mom passed away almost 6 years ago after a 5 year battle with breast cancer. She was a inspiration to us all and we all miss her everyday that passes with out her. Aunt Bk this was for you!
Okay, okay!
I know I am so sorry, this weekend has been crazy. I had my scope a.k.a Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (yes a real word) Friday at 1:30 and my mom and cousin got in Friday evening. Here is the scoop with the scope. They found "something" but it was covered with a white mucusish blob, what they think is by body was trying to heal over it and it may or may not fall off. They thought it would be best not to remove it. My throat hurt the next day pretty bad and was really swollen but it is much better now. I am going to call Costco and see what they are willing to pay. I am worried that because they didn't remove it then I don't have proof of what the object was. I thought you all may be gross like me and want to see a pic that they gave me of what it looks like so here ya go...
This is the top of my throat and the upside down V is my vocal cords...I know it is way nasty but I had to share

Someone hears me..
I went and saw my doc yesterday and she said my throat was infected and she put me on something for it. I got home and Brian was bugged(as I was) and said we should just go back to the ER until they do something or get you in to a gastro doc. We went in and the same doctor walked in I seriously wanted to punch him in the face. He treated me the same as he did the other day and was a totally jerk. Finally I guess I bugged him enough to call the gastro doc on call and he told me his office would get me in with his parter in the morning. I went in a 9 a.m. and seriously I LOVE this guy. He was amazing and finally didn't treat me like I was crazy. I go into the hospital at 12:30 for them to put me out and do a scope and find this freakin thing in my throat. I was so nervous before he came in cause I knew it was a make or break thing, if he didn't do something then that was it. I will let you know what happens with the scope.

Pics!
Thanks so much Mike for taking these for us. You are so talented and we are so lucky to have you in our lives.
update!
The lovely "object" is still there. I finally got in with my pcp today at 1:30. I am hoping they will do something or push to get me in somewhere else cause this sucks. I'll let you all know what and if they do something.
P.S. I got the cd from Mike last night with photos that he took of Addie and they turned out awesome. I will do a slideshow later today.

Anger isn't the word...
Yesterday around noon I was eating a lovely banana muffin from Costco when about half way through the muffin I took a bite, swallowed and felt a sharp something stick into my throat. I took another bite cause I guess I'm retarded I felt the sharp object still the and there was a sharp pain when I swallow. I felt in my throat and could feel the object, but I couldn't reach it enough to try and get it out. I called my mom and asked her what I should do, she said maybe try and eat some bread to work it down or something. I tried everything I could think of to try and get this thing out. I called a urgent care place and they told me to go to the ER. I called Brian he came home and off I went at 1:30. I got into a room after about an hour of waiting. The doc came in about 30 minutes later. He said what's going on? I told him the story and he said oh, so there was nuts in the muffin and scratched your throat and that is why you still have that feel of something being there. I responded with actually there was NO NUTS in the muffin. He said well the top must have been a little over cooked then. I ask NO it wasn't, there is something sticking into my throat. At this I wanted to kill this guy. He treated me like I was totally crazy, and just had nothing better to do then go spend my day in the ER with great people like himself. He then looked in my throat and said yeah I don't see anything. I told him that it was on the other side where he wouldn't be able to see it. He told me he would have them do a barium swallow a.k.a. a upper GI to see if they could see anything. I went and did that and the doc said he couldn't see anything but they can't see small things like fish bones etc. Well that's funny cause I never said it was HUGE. I know it is small. Then they took me back to my room where I sat for 3 hours then the doctor that I was ever so fond of came in and told me he was right and nothing is there I am just crazy pretty much. He said he was going to talk to another doc then come back and talk to me again. An hour and a half passed then a discharge nurse came in and said I am here to send you home...She game me some papers with a gastroenterologist doc referral and a RX ( that the doc didn't sign so I couldn't' fill it if I wanted to) for some acid reducing drug for my stomach( I don't have a problem with my STOMACH it's my throat). Then I left at 7:55p.m. I was so mad I didn't even know what to do. My throat felt raw from it being scratched my this " object" every time I swallow. I called the Doc he referred me to this morning and they can't get me in until the 22nd. That's in 2 weeks. I called a ENT and they can't get me in until next Tuesday. At this point I just want to cry. I don't want to eat or drink cause it hurts so freakin bad.

I never thought this day would come.
FINALLY, FINALLY,FINALLY Brian got sick of his long shag hair. I have been over it for a while now. Trying to convince him that he should get it cut, and that is was starting to look like a mop. The last week it had been bugging him, he make an appt with a co-worker that also does hair and got it hacked last night.... As you can see he wasn't to happy about the picture taking.

A little peak into fall...
The last few days around here have been a tad bit cooler, in the 80's. I can't tell you how much I love being able to go outside and walk to the little park close by, or just send Addie out to the patio to play. I can now walk outside and not feel like I walked into a huge oven. Here are a few pics from our little walk to the park to play for a bit.
Addie doing her favorite thing...swinging!
This is her smile when you tell her to say "cheese".
Flying Peter Pan style.
Being silly on the swing.
Over all a fun time at the park.

5 Things about me!
1.) I have a weird thing about vacuum lines, well and vacuums. The lines need to all be the same, like a pattern in a room or rug.
2.) I have a routine in the shower (I hope I am not the only one that does this)...Wash hair, rinse hair, wash body, put in conditioner, wash face, and rinse hair.
3.) I text way to much...I often text a whole message with out looking.
4.) If I take a nap I ALWAYS wake up with a really bad headache.
5.) Anytime we go to a store or a restaurant and they ask do you want to donate a dollar to this foundation or whatever, I can't say no...I always feel so guilty if I do. Today I was asked twice...and donated 2 dollars to two great causes.
I tag Clarissa, Amber, and Heather.
