San Diego once again..
As Brian said we took advantage of his 3 day weekend and took off to San Diego. We had a blast to say the least. We spent one evening at the beach watching the sunset. It was BEAUTIFUL! Addie had a blast playing in the sand and climbing up and sliding down the hills of sand. Brian taught Kp and I how to catch sand crabs, that was a interesting experience. We also hung out and played WiiFit with everyone and had a hoot. I will blog more and post a slide show in a day or so but here is a few cute ones that KP took.

As our 3 day weekend comes to a close
We were lucky enough to make a last minute decision and take a quick trip to San Diego for the weekend. It was one of the best weekends I think we've had out there yet. It was nice spending time with my brother, and he and I were able to go to a graduation party with some long time friends on Saturday night. Our 3 day weekends always seem to fly by way too fast in San Diego.
P.S. - we got WiiFit and there's some fierce competition in this house to get the farthest ski jump record, so far KP holds the record of 162m, Carrie's in 2nd with 153m and apparently I'm still stuck on the ski lift...I guess I just need to log some more time on the Wii, if I can pry the balance board away from the girls. Who woulda thought a game geared towards light exercise could be so fun!

A Bug's Life!!
Everyone knows how kids can be with movies, once they find one they like they watch it over and over and OVER again......Addie has been crazy about all kinds of bugs for a while now, I thought she would like A Bug's Life. She watched it the night we got it and honestly watched it once if not twice a day since then. In the movie there is a part where the mean grasshopper tells the ants to double the order of food that they are supposed to gather for them. For some reason Addie thinks that is the funniest thing ever, I have no clue why but she does. I tried a million times to upload a video of her saying "Double the Order"...but for some reason it keeps getting some error...so I'll try later...

I REGISTERED!!!
As you all know this year I'll be participating in a very special
event called The Breast Cancer 3-Day.
I'll walk 60 miles over the course of three days with
thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds
will support breast cancer research, education,
screening and treatment through Susan G. Komen for the
Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast
Cancer Fund.
I am walking with 3 other wonderful women. One of
Brian's cousins Lissa who has been lucky enough to be
sponsored by her employer. Lissa's friend Danielle,
and my cousin Jen who lost her mom to breast cancer.
I've agreed to raise at least $2,200 in donations. I
need your help. I CAN NOT DO THIS ALONE. Would you
please consider making a donation? Anything will help.
Keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have
to train. You can give online at www.The3Day.org.
Just follow the link below to visit my personal fundraising
webpage and make a donation. You can also call 800.996.3DAY
to donate over the phone just make sure to say my name so
your donation will go to my goal.
Each and every one of us have been affected by breast
cancer in one way or another. I lost my Aunt Brenda
December of 2002 ago after battling the disease for 5
years. Brian's Grandma Toni was also taken from us
October of 2005.
According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure,
approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed
with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will
die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far.
To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that
you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by
supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
P.S. PLEASE, PLEASE, forward this to anyone else that
you feel would be willing to donate.

Do you know what you are putting on your body??
Once again my wonderful friend Aimee told me about a great website that has some awesome info...You can search for any and pretty much all of your makeup, lotion, shampoo, sunscreen...anything and everything that you put on your body. It is a crazy wake up call to things that we are putting in our bodies and how bad they are for us. Some are worse then others. My face lotion was rated a 8 out of 10 (10 is the worst), my face wash was only a 4...it's just great info and won't hurt you to check it out. Here is some info on the site.
Skin Deep is a safety guide to cosmetics and personal care products brought to you by researchers at the Environmental Working Group.
Skin Deep pairs ingredients in more than 25,000 products against 50 definitive toxicity and regulatory databases, making it the largest integrated data resource of its kind. Why did a small nonprofit take on such a big project? Because the FDA doesn't require companies to test their own products for safety.

WATCH OUT!!
I put Addie down for a nap yesterday afternoon. She is kinda mad but was really tired and needed to take a nap. She didn't really make much noise so I thought she was sleeping. I checked on the video monitor and she was laying down, I thought she was sleeping. KP and I started watching a movie, soon into it I fell alseep, a few min later I heard Addie talking. I decided to go up and see what was going on. I could smell it half way up the stairs and I knew I was in for it.It took all I had to not FREAK OUT on Addie when I walked in and saw this... I am so sorry if this is way too much for ya but I had to show this so people know I am not crazy but I may be soon if this happens again.
Swim Time!!

I'm doing it!!!
I may be a tiny crazy but I am going to do the 3-day walk for breast cancer on Nov 14-16. You walk 20 miles a day for 3 days, camp out, raise $2,200, and have the experience of a lifetime. I have wanted to do it and I FINALLY committed to do it with Brian's cousin Lissa that did it the year before last. She said besides having her daughter it was the best experience that she has ever had. The more I thought about it the more I realized the excuses that I was coming up with why I can't or won't do it was ridiculous. 3 days of walking is NOTHING compared to what these people with this HORRIBLE cancer have to go through or deal with everyday. It's the least that I can do to find a cure for this. Everyone has been affected by it in one way or another. I talked to my cousin Jen that lost her mom about 5 years ago, she said that she has been wanting to do the 3-day but couldn't find anyone to do it with. I am hoping that it will all work out and she will be able to come and do it with us. I HAVE to raise $2,200, by the end of November. I will put up info on how to donate money the the next couple weeks or so. PLEASE, PLEASE, support me on this journey. If it's 5,10,30,50 or 100 dollars, ANYTHING helps. I have 6 months to train, building myself up to be able to walk 20 miles. I know that I can do it, but it will take some work for sure.

Happy Mother's Day!
I pretty much got the biggest surprise last night. Brian and Addie got me a Kitchen Aid Mixer for Mother's Day. I have wanted one FOREVER and just figured that someday I would get one but it wouldn't be anytime soon. Oh how I was wrong. It is possibly the most beautiful kitchen appliance I have ever seen. I made a batch of cookies last night I couldn't wait to whip something up. I hope all of the Mother's and Mommas to be have a wonderful Mother's Day!
She's here!!
KP got here Thursday around noon. We are so excited to have her here for the summer. She has been a HUGE help around the house and with Addie. It's like having two of me. Addie LOVES her, KP lets her jump on her bed and plays silly games with her. She always has someone cool to play with and keep her busy.

Java is done!
Yay!! My 10 weeks of Java programming at UoP is finally over. I can easily say it was the most challenging courses I've seen thus far, and the final week was especially stressful considering I had a team made that obviously planned to have us do all the work and get all the credit. Unfortunately he didn't know that I emailed the instructor letting him know how little effort he made to work with the team, and that his code was broken and never worked from the get-go...so maybe he'll learn for his next poor team mates to actually put forth some effort.
Anyway, 10 weeks was a lot of Java, but I can honestly say I learned a lot and took away some great basic understanding of Object Oriented Programming in general. I think I probably would've enjoyed it more had I been afforded the opportunity to cover the same material, only in a slightly longer timeframe but at this point there's no use in crying over spilled milk.
Also, I gotta say thanks to my neighbor Adam for helping me through some of my rough patches through this class! Your help is appreciated :)

Finally...
Okay, Okay, OKAY!!! I know it's been forever but I promise things have been nuts around here. We went to Colorado, the day after we got home we left for the river. We got home Sunday night and one of my very best friends is coming tomorrow to live with us for the summer. I am trying to organize the loft so we can move Addie up there. That's what's going on here.
We had a great time in Colorado, it was wonderful to spend some time with Chris and the kids. We were also able to catch up with Valeri and Chloe for a short little park visit, and we also saw John, Carla, Brett, and Taryn. It was wonderful to see all of them. The kids all did well with Addie and for the most part I think she did good with them. It's kinda hard to go from just her and I to being around 4 more kids. She was always busy doing something with someone. I think for sure Addie had a favorite but she spent some good time with all of the kids. Addie also LOVED Chris' dog Casey, she would follow her around forever. Casey was GREAT about letting Addie roll on her, pull her hair, and try and check out her teeth. I also decided to be a little crazy and add some PINK to my hair. I have wanted to for a long time now and I thought if anyone can do a great job and pull it off it's Chris. I love it and think it turned out AWESOME. Thanks Chris!
Like I said the day after we got back from CO we left for the river to meet up with Gloria, Vic and her boys Ryon and Criag, and some other awesome family friends Marcia, Paul, Brian, Alana( Brian's GF), Brad, Richard( Brad's Friend), Keith, and Alan. We had a blast. Addie always loves anytime that she gets to spend with her Mimi. She loves following Ryon and Craig around they are always doing something fun. Addie and I went tubing the last day that we were there, she thought it was pretty fun. She kept yelling to Keith "Fast, Fast". Another wonderful river trip to talk about.
Addie's little buddy Hayden just turned ONE a few weeks ago. We went to his party and had a great time playing in the water, eating cake and pizza, we also got to ride on this cool little train all around the park. Addie thought it was pretty cool. We hope you had a great birthday Hayden. Thanks for being our friend.
On Monday Nancy and I decided to take the kids to the new little park that has awesome water toys and a COVERED playground. The kids had tons of fun getting out and getting wet.
The slideshow of all the pics is pretty long cause there is pics from everything I just blogged about. Enjoy!

We're HOME!!
Addie and I got in last night at about 9 p.m. I have a million things I have to do because we are leaving to go out to the river for the weekend when Brian gets home from work. Addie is all jacked up with sleeping she went to bed at 11 and woke up at 6:15. For me and her that is not enough sleep to recover from our trip and being sick. I am hoping that she will take a nap. I need some sleep too. I am having issues getting motivated to want to unpack from our CO trip and repack for the river trip...I just wish I could sleep all day then maybe just maybe I would feel like doing something. We had a great trip. I will upload pics and stuff when we get home from the river.
